Does Archivist have a ChatGPT app?

Yes, an official app in the ChatGPT app directory, with OAuth-backed read and write access to your campaign.

Can the MCP server write data, or just read it?

Both. Grant the agent_write scope to create and update characters, quests, and journals from your AI assistant, not just query them.

Does Archivist integrate with Notion or Gemini Notebook?

Notion ships its own official MCP server, and Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) has community-built ones. Bundle either alongside Archivist's MCP through Nexus, Claude, or ChatGPT.

What is the fastest way to connect Claude Desktop?

Archivist Nexus. A guided installer that wires Claude Desktop's config automatically. No JSON editing required.

Why does Archivist have an MCP server and API?

It's your campaign data, not ours, so it shouldn't be stuck inside Archivist. That's why we built a hosted MCP server (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and more) and a REST API for everything else.
